New Year Update - 2024 The Holidays Calendar is LIVE!!📆

Published 4 months ago • 2 min read

Hello Reader,

I've completed my triple check of The Holidays Calendar!! I clocked my time throughout 2023 to see how long it took me to double-check and last week, triple check my calendar of holidays: 12 hours. I tried to find the best and legitimate resources for each holiday.

Some holidays changed dates completely on me, and some sources had dates that were a couple days apart.

This calendar is for anyone who has to do their own content planning for the year. I didn't want you to reinvent the wheel over and over like I have done in past years for clients. I wanted one spot to eyeball and plan what I could use for my clients, both service-based and product-based.

Obviously if there are dates that still look odd to you, please flag them to me. I don't want to be a crap resource to you.

The other thing that took a while was looking at additional holidays to include. It is currently at over 300 holidays, but I'm still adding! If you want a particular holiday included, please flag that to me, so I can add them.

If you currently use my 2023 gCal link in your Google Calendar, you don't have to do anything. I've updated the title to 2024. The link stayed the same!

Please share my Calendar with your network. Here's the marketing education to know: I created an landing page, a product, and an automation with a series of emails and tags.

  1. The link takes you to my landing page https://chrislamconnects.ck.page/holidaysgcal for this lead magnet (calendar).
  2. When you sign up, it tags you in my email system (ConvertKit) as "Calendar Signed Up"
  3. Then it triggers an email to be sent to you with the link to the Google Calendar.
  4. Also, on the backend, I directed a trigger to send you my Welcome Sequence emails afterward.
  5. After the Welcome Sequence emails are sent, you are tagged "completed" and tagged "newsletter."
  6. Then you get my regular newsletter emailed to them.

This is the automation I used for the Calendar lead magnet.

I love email marketing. It's me talking to a warm audience (you) who WANTS to hear from me regularly. You can do the same for your audience!

Bits and Pieces

  • I'm not finished watching this Katt Williams interview and it is AWESOME. It is 2 hours and 46 mins, so take your time. Here's one clip that I favorited.
  • Apple is about to release their AI toolkit for iOS18.
  • If you like your events on list format, Sean Choi's giant spreadsheet is incredible. Bookmark and use! (Thanks, Lia Haberman, for the share!)
  • The Summer Olympics are coming, which makes me throw it back to Adam Rippon's Winter Olympics TikToks.

What has caught your eye this week?

My goal in the next month is catch up on a couple personal projects like redesigning my website to look as basic as possible and rewriting my webpages. Otherwise, it's just trying to get back into the swing of things as school is back in session.

Please share my Holidays Calendar lead magnet! I think it is a great resource and I've saved you 12 hours of your life!

Hello Reader, So I'm watching a TikTok about a young person sharing how you may want to search for a job, if you're looking for a job. She's spelling out quotes and ANDs. This is what's called a Boolean search. (Pronounced "boo-lee-en.") This type of search is how you make your Google searches more helpful, too. Let's go back to LinkedIn because while you may be an entrepreneur, your network might not be. Plus you may want to consider this as you hire more staff or influencers or creators....

Hello Reader, Happy Greenwashing Month! I mean, Earth Month. Katie Robert of Trust Insights wrote an article about the 5 Ps of marketing. I think we should take it on for micro and small business owners. Think of them as your compass. In my personal life, I try to answer this question: "Does it serve me? Will it take away time from my family?" For business, you can ask these questions to kick off your marketing planning. Purpose Start with 'why.' (This is a Simon Sinek book, btw.) Why does...

Hi Reader, Today I had two small businesses reach out and ask me about their websites. I ran through a quick review for each and the same problems existed - even for these two radically different small businesses. Here are some common problems I see and why you should stop doing these: Auto-played videos - I see we are starting off with murder. Just stop. It's annoyed everyone in 1998, it still annoys everyone in 2024. It makes me (a potential customer) close the tab and move on to something...
